Dr. Schmidt is always excited to come to work because he knows he’ll have the opportunity to interact with his great patients and have a positive impact on their dental health. Originally from Cincinnati, he’s now proud to call Louisville his home, and he can’t wait to show you what’s possible for your smile at Remmers Dental.
Dr. Schmidt’s father is an anesthesiologist, so he became interested in the medical field from an early age. He also grew up with two neighbors who happened to be dentists, and he ended up shadowing them throughout high school and college. After spending time in their practices, he knew he wanted to go into the dental field.
Dr. Schmidt attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, and he then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Cincinnati. Always eager to learn more so he can stay up to date on the latest technology and techniques, he is also a member of the American Dental Association and Kentucky Dental Association.
Dr. Schmidt met his wife, Emily, during his first year of dental school, and they were married in June 2020. They welcomed their son, Palmer, in October 2021. Dr. Schmidt was a member of his college’s golf team, and even now, you’ll most likely find him on the course if he isn’t at the office or spending time with family (which also includes their Golden Retriever, Memphis). He enjoys watching and attending other sports as well because he is a big Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan.
